Residential Resurfacing 2013

Completed Project

calProject Name: Residential Resurfacing 2013
Contract No: 13-04
Contractor: Windsor Fuel Co.

The City of Yuba City rehabilitated multiple residential streets in the Residential Resurfacing Project 2013 with a combination of Polymer Modified Asphalt Rubber (PMAR) Chip Seal, HMA overlay, HMA Leveling courses, and Micro Surfacing. The California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle), in an effort to promote the use of California waste tire rubber recycling in pavement design, repairs and maintenance, partially funded the PMAR Chip Seal through their Rubberized Pavement Grant program. The project work was performed by Windsor Fuel Co and their subcontractor, American Pavement Systems.

The PMAR Chip Seal was installed on eighteen residential streets in Yuba City and the use of the PMAR Chip Seal on these locations has diverted 5,856 California waste tires from the waste stream.
