TRIP REFUND POLICY - Trips that include ticketed events will only be refunded if notification is received 7 days in advance, and the spot can be filled. All refunds are made at the discretion of the Department and a $7 administration fee per trip per person will be applied.

Baylink Ferry from Vallejo to SF Pier 1

Enjoy a hassle-free relaxing hour cruise across the San Francisco Bay arriving at the Pier 1 Ferry Building.  You will have 4 1/2 hours to enjoy the sights, Farmer’s Market and a no-host lunch before your trip back across the bay.

Town of Locke Historical Tour

On August 2, 1970 Locke was listed in the National Register of Historic Places by the National Park Service. It is the only town in the United States built exclusively by the Chinese Americans for the Chinese Americans. Its unique charm and genuine authenticity bring many visitors to its streets each year.   We will have a docent led tour of the many historical sites on Main St. including the Locke Boarding House  Museum, Dai Loy Gambling House Museum, Chinese School House and Memorial Park.  Afterwards, we will enjoy lunch at the infamous Al’s Place,   a  restaurant with a unique history of it’s own, whose founder, Al, was known for eccentric behavior such as cutting off patron’s neckties (too dressy),  throwing money onto the ceiling, and stirring ladies’ drinks with his fingers.

The Abbey of New Clairvaux, Vina, CA

This 580 acre ranch is rich with history that began with Peter Lassen and Leland Stanford and  continues with the monastic community, Cistercian Trappist monks, that live in and sustain the ranch today.   We will experience a docent-led tour of the peaceful and serene monastery grounds, visit the new Abbey Church and refinished 800 year old chapter house that William        Randolph Hearst purchased and moved from Spain in the early 1930s.  We will also have time to visit the Abbey Winery.  Afterwards, we will stop for lunch at Sierra Nevada Brewery.

Castello di Amorosa

Visit an authentically-built, medieval inspired Tuscan castle and winery in world famous Napa Valley. This 136,000 square foot castle took over        15 years to build. We will explore multiple levels of the castle on a guided tour including the lower levels which feature an authentic torture chamber, Great Hall, Armory,   a 12,000 square foot Grand Barrel Room, followed by a tasting of five Premium Wines in one of the winery’s private tasting bars.  Trip will include  a late lunch stop in St. Helena on our way home.
